Accreditation
Lorain County Community College is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, which is the regional accrediting authority for Ohio colleges and universities. As a full partner in the Academic Quality Improvement Program of the Higher Learning Commission, the College is committed to the continuous improvement of its programs and services and to engaging in a regular cycle of measurements and external reviews to assess and assure its effectiveness in meeting the needs of its students and many stakeholders.
The college is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing to conduct two programs in nursing. The LCCC Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing programs have accreditation from the National League for Nursing (Accreditation Commission, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006, 212-363-5555, extension 153 or email at www.nlnac.org). In addition, the Clinical Laboratory Science Technology program is fully accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (Accreditation Commission, 8410 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, Suite 670, Chicago, IL 60631-3415, 773-714-8880 or email at naacls@mcs.net). The Radiologic Technology Program is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, 20 North Wacker Drive, Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60606-2901, 312-704-5300. The Emergency Medical Technology courses (EMTB #052-399 and EMTP #2-3-005) are accredited by The Ohio Division of Emergency Medical Services.
The college holds memberships with: American Association of Community Colleges, Ohio Association of Two-Year Colleges, National Association of College and Admissions Counselors, National Association of College Bookstores, American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, NAFSA: Association of International Educators, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Society of Plastic Engineers, National League of Nursing, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Association of College Unions-International, National Association for Campus Activities, Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education, National Science Teachers Association, Midwest Alliance in Nursing, Phi Theta Kappa Society, North Central Association and National Council of LaRaza.
The college is also authorized by the Immigration and Naturalization Service of the United States to accept and certify non-immigrant foreign students.
