Energize Your Job Search through Career Fair at LCCC
If you are in a career transition, career fairs can provide a great opportunity to inject new energy into your job search, meet with representatives of area companies, and connect with real employment opportunities. It is also an effective way to expand your network of professional contacts.
On Wednesday, April 25, Lorain County Community College will host its annual Career Expo from 12-3 p.m. at the John A. Spitzer Conference Center. This event is co-sponsored by LCCC, the Employment netWork and the Lorain County JVS.
More than 60 local companies with positions available in business, information technology, engineering, manufacturing and other areas will be participating. All area job seekers are invited to participate.
To help you make the Career Expo a successful experience, LCCC’s Transitions meeting on Monday, April 9th will feature a program of tips on how to “work” a career fair. Phil Mikita from LCCC’s Employment and Career Services office will present this program. Mikita is responsible for recruiting area employers and preparing local job seekers for the LCCC Career Expo. He has developed a formula you can use to prepare a savvy approach that could result in establishing better contacts and identifying available job opportunities.
Transitions is a free networking group for business professionals sponsored by LCCC’s Employment and Career Services office. Transitions meetings feature short seminars on topics relevant to a successful job search, the sharing of job leads and support, and networking contacts. The group meets from 7-8:30 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month in College Center room 228 on the LCCC campus.
