AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT COMING TO LORAIN COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE APRIL 14-19

Dinner to Benefit the Lorain County AIDS Task Force

The AIDS Memorial Quilt, a poignant reminder about the human toll this disease claims worldwide, will be on display in an exhibition titled “Second Annual Reflections of Our Red Ribbon Angels,” from Monday, April 14 through Saturday, April 19 at Lorain County Community College.

The Quilt that will be on display is only a portion of the original Quilt. It will consist of 12 panels that are each 12 feet wide by 12 feet high.

The Quilt will be on display from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m., April 14-19 in the Stocker Arts Center.

This is the largest ongoing community arts project in the world and virtually every one of the more than 40,000 colorful panels that make up the Quilt memorializes the life of a person lost to AIDS.

A dinner and silent auction to benefit the Lorain County AIDS Task Force will be held in conjunction with the display of the Quilt at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 19 in the Grand Room of the LCCC John A. Spitzer Conference Center. The deadline to purchase tickets for the dinner is April 14.

Following the dinner, guests will be able to view the AIDS Memorial Quilt on display in the Stocker Arts Center, which is adjacent to the Spitzer Conference Center.

The dinner is $25 per person, $20 for LCCC students and staff. For ticket information to the dinner, call the LCCC Student Life office at 1-800-995-5222 (extension 7643), or direct at (440) 366-7643.
