Behavior-Based Interviewing a Growing Trend in Job Search Process
If you have ever been asked an interview question that began with “Tell me about a time when you...” then the interviewer was using a technique known as behavior-based interviewing. Today, many organizations are adopting this style of interviewing due to the belief that past behavior will predict future success.
Learn what steps you can take to prepare for this kind of job interview at the Transitions networking session for business professionals at 7 p.m., Monday, April 28 at Lorain County Community College. The session is free and open to the public.
Shantya Mauk, assistant vice president and business training manager, supporting the Professional Services division of Key Bank, will discuss the behavior-based interviewing process and provide tips for a successful job interview.
Mauk has been in the financial services business for more than 17 years, with positions in retail, investments and human resources. She holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration from Tiffin University, and a master’s of science degree in Organizational Development from Case Western Reserve University. Currently she is also an adjunct faculty member of Tiffin University instructing Business and Leadership courses.
Transitions is sponsored by LCCC’s Employment and Career Services office. Transitions meetings feature short seminars on topics relevant to a successful job search, the sharing of job leads and support, and networking contacts. The group meets the second and fourth Monday of each month in LCCC’s College Center room 228 from 7-8:30 p.m.
