Civic Orchestra to Perform Sunday, February 10
The Lorain County Community College Civic Orchestra will perform at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 in the Stocker Arts Center. The program features music of the new world, with three American composers and one from Argentina.
The concert will include “Overture to The School for Scandal" by Samuel Barber, “Three Negro Songs” by William Grant Still, and “Pampeana No. 3” by Alberto Ginestera. In a change from the originally scheduled program, “Alvorada na Floresta Tropical” by Heitor Villa-Lobos will not be performed. In its place, “Raiders March” by John Williams will be performed. The Williams’ march is the signature music to the Indiana Jones motion pictures.
