FOUR NEW COMPANIES LOCATING AT LCCC’S EDISON TECHNOLOGY INCUBATOR IN THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP INNOVATION CENTER

The Great Lakes Innovation and Development Enterprise (GLIDE) and Lorain County Community College (LCCC) today announced that four new technology based companies have recently relocated into the Edison Technology Incubator within the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center (EIC).

The EIC building is located within LCCC’s Great Lakes Technology Park that is adjacent to the LCCC campus. The four companies, which are at various stages of business start-up, are bringing 19 jobs to Lorain County.

“When we started GLIDE in 2001 it was with idea that we would help start-up businesses become successful and in the process entice them to locate within Lorain County,” said LCCC President Dr. Roy A. Church. “These companies are locating here because they see a level of support that is helping them avoid some of the pitfalls of starting their business. They also see benefit from the access to some our outstanding students and faculty.”

The Companies that are new to the GLIDE business incubator are:

  • CutterCroix – CutterCroix is a developer of software for small to mid-size contractors that is simple, economical, mobile, scalable, and delivered as a subscription-based web application. This innovative software will help contractors accurately bid projects and track costs.

  • Collobative – Collabotive is a developer of patent pending software system, that incorporates a number of innovative collaboration technologies (i.e. smart widgets) for managing consumer reviews and ratings (R & R) from multiple independent websites that do not have the expertise or web traffic to offer this revenue generating, traffic-increasing feature.  ReviewView™ combines and shares R & R content amongst all client websites. In addition, ReviewView™ makes R & R useful and “intelligent” with smart widgets that sort the information to match the consumer’s profile and therefore increases the likelihood of a purchase.

  • T & M Technologies - T & M Technology Solutions, which started in 2006, is an organization that brings the information technology solutions enjoyed by large enterprises to small business. T & M strives to do this in the most affordable and efficient manner possible to allow these companies to realize a maximum return on investment. T & M becomes a part of a company’s team by working to understand their environment and providing services as if you had your own Information Technology department.

  • Wireless Environment - Wireless Environment invents, designs and manufactures efficient, long-lasting light bulbs using Light-Emitting Diodes (LED’s) as their light source. Wireless Environment has developed technology that allows easy control of the light bulb, such as a receiver that is incorporated into the bulb to turn the light on and off with a remote. Wireless Environment will produce smart bulbs and license its technology to OEM’s.

The above companies will join the following existing tenants within the EIC:

  • Banyan Technology – Banyan Technology is a technology development company that provides software solutions that increase efficiencies and effectiveness of transactional information management.

  • Sooy & Company – Sooy & Company is a leading design firm that works with education and nonprofit organizations. Their expertise enables education, civic, cultural and other non-profit organizations to create effective communications that raise awareness, raise funds, and to create, build and nurture relationships with their key audiences and within the community.

  • Clear Image Technology– Clear Image Technology is a technology development company that creates image enhancement processing systems and intelligent software platforms (e.g. image processing software which allows physicians to significantly enhance the images produced by small fiberscopes) for use in multiple markets.

  • Vasolux - VasoLux MicroSystems is medical device company developing next-generation diagnostic medical imaging devices. VasoLux MicroSystems is focused on improving patient diagnoses by providing objective and quantitative information to physicians that will assist them in determining the most appropriate therapeutic intervention.

“We are making terrific progress in our quest to bring positive workforce and economic change to Lorain County. We are working on another round of new tenants that we hope will join us shortly and will continue the technology growth in our region,” Church added.

About the Great Lakes Innovation and Development Enterprise

The Great Lakes Innovation and Development Enterprise (GLIDE) operates in the recently opened Entrepreneurship Innovation Center in the Great Lakes Technology Park adjacent to the LCCC campus.  The facilities include a state-of-the-art conference center with teleconferencing capability, group presentation facilities, seminar rooms and breakout rooms. Launched in 2001 through a partnership between the Lorain County Commissioners, the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce and the College, GLIDE was the first business incubator located on a community college campus in the State of Ohio.  With a primary mission to nurture entrepreneurs and grow jobs, GLIDE has worked with more than 800 companies and entrepreneurs since its inception.  In 2006, GLIDE became an Edison Technology Incubator within the State of Ohio.  This designation enables GLIDE to receive state funding through the Ohio Department of Development to enhance services to support the growth of existing technology companies as well as to encourage the development of early-stage technology-based businesses in the region in an effort to retain high-wage jobs in Northeast Ohio.
