Lorain County Community College will host a Journalism Boot Camp for high school and college journalists from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, April 18 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 19. Friday’s activities will be held in room 227 of the LCCC College Center building and Saturday’s activities will be held in room 111 of the Stocker Arts Center.
Speakers include reporters and editors from the Chronicle-Telegram, Sandusky Register, Plain Dealer, Morning Journal and faculty from area colleges and universities.
Hands-on sessions will cover the topics of writing, reporting and editing; dealing with information and sources; photography and photo preparation; design and layout; editorial management; and law and ethics.
A reception will follow the Saturday class sessions to honor Boot Camp participants and the winners of the Lorain County Community College Regional High School Journalism Contest.
