LCCC STUDENT BUSINESS GROUPS TO OFFER SEVERAL EVENTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK
In conjunction with the National Entrepreneurship Week – February 23 to March 1 – sponsored by the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education, several events are schedule at Lorain County Community College during this week.
The first are pair of seminars sponsored by LCCC’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and conference and meeting management students on small business topics.
The seminars will be held consecutively from 9-10 a.m. and 10:15-11:15 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26 in room 227 of the College Center building at Lorain County Community College.
The first seminar is “Spark Your Small Business Future” and will feature a representative from SCORE who will discuss information on how to start a small business. SCORE is a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneurship education and the formation, growth, and success of the nation’s small businesses.
After a short coffee break the second seminar – “Be Your Own Boss (BYOB)” – will follow. In this seminar some of Lorain County’s entrepreneurs will share their stories of successes and challenges of being their own boss.
Information will also be available regarding LCCC’s associate’s degree program in entrepreneurship.

- Home-Based Business Job Fair
LCCC’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) will sponsor a home-based business job fair from 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26 in the LCCC College Center Mall. Those who attend will be able to explore home-based job opportunities, purchase products and meet with representatives from local home-based businesses such as AVON, Mary Kay and Home Interiors. - Small Business Marketing Workshop
LCCC’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and Mainstreet Elyria will sponsor a small business marketing workshop from 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27 in the Lorain County Administration Building located at 226 Middle Avenue in Elyria. Small business owners can get advice for creating marketing plans, website design tips and online advertising information as well as creative ideas and resources for marketing on a limited budget.
