TWO APPOINTED TO THE LCCC BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Sheffield resident, Lee S. Kolczun, and Lorain resident, Madeline Torres-Hutlock, were recently appointed to five-year terms to the nine-member LCCC Board of Trustees by Gov. Ted Strickland. Kolczun and Torres-Hutlock replace trustees Jeff Ridell and Jane Norton.
“The experience that Mr. Kolczun and Ms. Torres-Hutlock bring to the Board of Trustees will be invaluable,” said LCCC President Dr. Roy A. Church. “Their community involvement makes them wonderful choices to represent the residents of Lorain County.”
Kolczun is a practicing attorney for more than 33 years in Lorain County in the area of probate law, estate planning and worker’s compensation as well as a business owner. He also taught at LCCC in the 1980s and more recently in the College’s entrepreneurial program in the business division. He currently teaches entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial marketing, new venture creation and legal environments of business.
He was an assistant attorney general with the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and was an assistant prosecutor for the City of Lorain. He has served in various positions with the Lorain County Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland and Cuyahoga Bar Associations, and the American Bar Association, General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Division.
Kolczun was Chair of the American Bar Association, General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Section in 2004-2005, and recently was elected to the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association. He has served on a number of boards throughout Northeast Ohio and is currently serving on the Board for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Foundation.
Torres-Hutlock is an LCCC graduate having earned an associate’s degree in 1988 and a former Board of Trustees member. She previously served on the board from 1987 to 1992.
She is a retired social worker who worked as a drug and alcohol counselor. She also sat on the Lorain County Public Library Board of Trustees for 14 years, including two as president. She was recently appointed as an at-large member of the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging.
Six of the nine members of the board are appointed by the Lorain County Commissioners and the governor appoints the remaining three.
