Childrens Learning Center Fall Events

LCCC CHILDREN’S LEARNING CENTER HOSTS FALL FAMILY EVENTS

Families with young children are invited to two upcoming free events at Lorain County Community College.

“Lights on After School: Camera, Dance and Action” will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 18 in College Center Commons. The evening will celebrate the importance of afterschool programs and is sponsored by LCCC’s Children’s Learning Center and the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC). Information will be available about afterschool programs offered through Horizons Education Centers, Neighborhood Alliance, The Linden School and St. Peter’s Child Care Center.

The event will include an appearance by Stomper from the Lake Erie Crushers, dancing with DJ John, games, food and prizes.  For more information, call the Children’s Learning Center at (440) 366-4038 or call the CCRC at (440) 960-7197.

“Jim Gill - Music Play for All Young Children” will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 22 in the Spitzer Conference Center.  The event is sponsored by the LCCC Children’s Learning Center and REACHigher.

Join in on the family fun with Jim Gill as he bangs out energetic rhythms on his banjo while everyone claps, jumps, dances and even sneezes along. The free concert is filled with songs and stories from Jim’s award-winning recordings and books for young children. After your exciting experience with Jim, take time to explore informational tables and have fun participating in family activities that enlighten you to the materials you have right in your own home.

This program is intended for families and their children ages birth through 8 years. Due to limited space, registration is required by calling the Children’s Learning Center at (440) 366-4038.
