Sustain Ag Info Session Dec 2012

LEARN ABOUT LCCC’S SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PROGRAMS AT A FREE INFORMATION SESSION

New courses begin in January for students interested in earning a certificate in Sustainable Agriculture or Permaculture Design at Lorain County Community College.

A free information session about the Sustainable Agriculture program will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 5 at LCCC’s College Center Commons.

The session will include information about new courses available for spring semester, including Interior Landscaping, Animal Farming, Spring Crop Production, Business Principles of Sustainable Agriculture and more. Program instructors will be available to answer questions and discuss the program options.

LCCC’s Sustainable Agriculture program is the first of its kind in Ohio. Students gain hands-on experience in careers in agriculture and food systems and learn key sustainability and land stewardship skills.

This program is in collaboration with the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute and the George Jones Farm, a program of the New Agrarian Center, in Oberlin.

For more information or to register for the information session, visit www.lorainccc.edu/sustain or contact Ruby Beil, Sustainable Agriculture Program Coordinator, at (440) 366-7222.
