LCCC’S UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP TO HOST INFO SESSIONS ON PROGRAMS
Lorain County Community College’s University Partnership has many upcoming information sessions for associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs available through partner schools.

Computer Science and Engineering Degree
Join LCCC and The University of Toledo faculty and staff for an information session on the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) degree from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, October 3 at LCCC’s University Partnership Ridge Campus in North Ridgeville. Graduates of the CSE program find careers in the aerospace, automotive, chemical, communication, electronics, manufacturing and processing industries as well as in government and education. Full scholarships are available.
Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology
The University Partnership and Youngstown State University will host an information session on the Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology degree from 4-6 p.m., Monday, October 7 in University Center 214. Learn more about this growing field at this information session.
Masters of Social Work
LCCC and The Ohio State University will host an open house for the Master of Social Work degree from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, October 17 in University Center 115. Social work employment opportunities are expected to grow by 25 percent in the coming years. Learn more about this nationally recognized program which features part-time courses on evenings and Saturdays and internships close to home. Meet with OSU and LCCC faculty and staff to discuss program details.
Bachelor of Arts in Communication
Join LCCC and Bowling Green State University faculty and staff for an open house on the Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree from 1-3 p.m., Friday, October 18 in University Center 115. Learn more about program curriculum and job opportunities. Electronic media have become the major sources of public information and entertainment today. Graduates may obtain positions as television producer, radio or television programmer, scriptwriter, radio announcer, promotions director, audio and video editor, web page designer and media researcher.
Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Financial Management
An information session on Hiram College’s Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Financial Management degree will be held from 3-4:30 p.m., Saturday, October 19 in University Center 115, and from 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 22 in UC 115. This degree will prepare students to enter a variety of careers in accounting, business, industry, finance, non-profit organizations or government.
Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Degree
The University Partnership of LCCC and Cleveland State University will host an information session on the Bachelor of Arts in Spanish degree from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, October 23 in University Center 115. Graduates of this program often work as translators or interpreters, in social service agencies, or in governmental agencies specializing in foreign relations. Many students will become teachers at the secondary or university level.
Associate of Applied Science in Dietetics
LCCC and Youngstown State University will host an open house on the Associate of Applied Science in Dietetics degree from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, October 24 in University Center 115. YSU and LCCC faculty and staff will be on hand to discuss program details. Graduates of this program are qualified to work as technicians under the supervision of a registered dietitian (R.D.) in nutrition services departments of hospitals and nursing homes, and are also employable in commercial foodservice systems. Many courses can be applied toward a bachelor’s degree with a major in food and nutrition (dietetics).
Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling
An information session on John Carroll University’s Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling will be held from 4-6 p.m., Monday, October 28 in University Center 115. The degree is designed to meet the current academic requirements of the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage Family Therapist board for the licenses of Professional Counselor (PC) and Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC). Courses in this program are offered primarily in the evening and on weekends to accommodate students who work during the day.
Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies
Join LCCC and Kent State University faculty and staff to learn about the Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies degree from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, October 29 in University Center 307. Learn about program curriculum and job opportunities. The Paralegal Studies program at Kent State University is designed to educate prospective paralegals in all areas of law. The program focuses on developing the critical reasoning, analytical skills and legal knowledge essential to succeed in today’s paralegal and law-related occupations.
