Introduction to Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoiP)
Courses conducted at Jenne University, Jenne Distributors
These 5-day, 2 credit hour courses are designed to provide the student hands-on experience intended to develop skills necessary to install, configure, design and implement a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution. The student will be introduced to the most up-to-date information on VoIP technologies i.e. Quality of Service (QoS), packet switching etc. Separate courses are offered for Avaya and Panasonic equipment.
Each of these 5-day hands-on training courses will begin each day at 8:30 am and will end at 4:30 pm. Friday's class will end early afternoon. Jenne Distributors will provide students lunch each day.
Avaya Product Course
This course is unique in that it affords the student the opportunity to interact with VoIP technicians pertaining to the Avaya IP Office system. This instructor-led course mixes lecture, hands-on, and group activities to enhance the “learn-by-doing” style of training and closely emulates the conditions that a technician may encounter in an actual work environment.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Create a VoIP link across the LAN or WAN
- Create a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- Install and administer the server based IP Office voicemail and software
- Install an IP Hardphone and PC IP Softphone
- Set up networking of IP Office systems, including Centralized Administration and Voice Messaging
- Use Various IP Office software applications to troubleshoot a VoIP network

Panasonic Product Course
This course is unique in that it affords the student the opportunity to interact with VoIP technicians pertaining to the Panasonic KX-TDA Digital Hybrid IP-PBX system. This instructor-led course mixes lecture, hands-on, and group activities to enhance the “learn-by-doing” style of training and closely emulates the conditions that a technician may encounter in an actual work environment.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Create a VoIP link across the LAN or WAN
- Create a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- Use the Panasonic Maintenance Console application to create and customize a KX-TDA configuration
- Install an IP Hardphone and PC IP Softphone
- Set up IP networking of KX-TDA systems, including Centralized Administration and Voice Messaging
- Use Various Maintenance Console software applications to troubleshoot a VoIP network
