I. COURSE TITLE: Advanced Lifetime Fitness COURSE NUMBER: HPED 292
II. CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Advanced Lifetime Fitness is designed for the student successfully completing Lifetime Fitness, who desires to achieve higher levels of fitness performance. Training continues to be self-scheduled with similar minimum requirements as Lifetime Fitness. Students are encouraged to surpass the minimum standards for self-scheduled training to achieve maximal improvement. Advanced Lifetime Fitness utilizes a variety of equipment to achieve an exercise training effect. Pre and Post **Fitness testing is a required element as well as six scheduled classroom lectures. (A special fee will be assessed.)
III. COURSE OUTCOMES: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Apply proper principles for Aerobic Training
Apply proper principles of Anaerobic Training
Demonstrate proper principles for obtaining Optimal Body Composition
Apply Optimal Nutrition for Exercise
Explain the Effects of Environment on Exercise
Examine the Effects of Ergogenic Aids
PSYCHOMOTOR:
Demonstrate proper use of resistance training equipment
Demonstrate proper use of aerobic training equipment
Produce Improved Fitness Performance

VI. ABSENCE, MAKE UP CLASS & GRADE REDUCTION POLICY: One make up class allowed. You will need to discuss this matter with your instructor on your first day back to class. Two week deadline; student is encouraged to initiate the make-up class. The student is responsible to initiate a make-up quiz for an excused absence on the day the quiz is administered.
VII. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, CLASS POLICY & PROCEDURES:
Complete a Medical History and Waiver Form prior to class participation.
Properly warm-up, stretch and cool down.
Acknowledge injuries as soon as they occur and contact the instructor promptly.
Wear proper attire and use equipment as specified by the instructor.
Chewing gum, candy or tobacco is prohibited in class.
Jewelry/Valuables should be removed before the activity begins and stored in a locked locker.
LCCC is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

IX. SPECIAL NEEDS:
Students who have any physical limitations or special needs that need to be addressed should discuss them with the Instructor as soon as possible.
It is recommended that you register with the Office of Special Needs & Services, Room 115, located in the Learning Resource Center (LRC), ext 4085.
