Meet the Personal Trainers

Meet the LCCC Personal Trainers

Matt Kendeigh, NSCA-CPT
AFAA Certified Personal Trainer

Matt is a graduate from Lorain County Community College, with his Associate of Applied Science in Sports and Fitness Management, Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Training, and Certificate of Completion for Group Exercise Instructor. He has received his certifications through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and Aerobics & Fitness Association of America AFAA as a Personal Trainer.  Matt is currently working as a personal trainer at Westlake Recreation Center and as a fitness assistant and as a facilitator for the Adventure Challenge Course at LCCC.  Matt has a wide range of experience from working with athletes of all ages for speed, strength, and agility; police academy cadets; weight loss; rehabilitation; and senior citizens looking to get fit or stay fit.

Jennifer R. McDonough
AFAA Certified Personal Trainer
Jennifer is a graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelors degree in Biology.  She then attended the United States Sports Academy, where she earned her Masters Degree in Sports Medicine and Fitness Management.  She has spent nine years working in corporate fitness.  This year, she began working at the Lorain County Community College fitness center as staff and a personal trainer.  Recently, Jennifer became a leader for the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program.  Her specialties are working with overuse injuries and general exercise programs at every skill level. Currently not available.

Kristy O'Brien, NSCA-CPT
AFFA Certified Personal Trainer

Kristy O’Brien graduated from LCCC’s Sports and Fitness Management Program in May of 2004. She holds certifications in Personal Training from NSCA, in Primary Group Exercise from AFAA and in Yoga from YOGAFIT. Kristy currently works at Lorain County Community College as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. She teaches adult Yoga at Ten Point O Gymnastics and has taught Yoga to high school teens at LCCC’s Early College Program. Kristy has coached elementary and middle school volleyball, and led conditioning programs for that sport. Kristy has also been involved with organizing a Fun with Fitness program for children 5 and under and a Teen Fitness program for Junior High students. Kristy believes in making physical fitness for kids and adults an enjoyable experience. Her motto is, exercise in moderation so you can keep it up for a lifetime. 

Kathryn Orantek, NSCA-CPT
NSCA Certified Personal Trainer
Kathryn is a certified personal trainer through the National Strength & Conditioning Association and Lorain County Community College. She has an A.A.S. in Business Administration and Sports and Fitness Management. She is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Sport and Exercise Science. She holds certifications as a group exercise, pilates, and spinning instructor. Kathryn has worked with a variety of people with all types of fitness levels. She enjoys training and educating everyone from the athlete to the mature adult. She will design a program that fits your specific needs and goals and focus on making fitness a priority in your life.

Dana Paden
NCSF Certified Personal Trainer
Dana is a graduate of Lorain County Community College with her Associate of Applied Science in Sports and Fitness Management and a Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Training. Dana is also a graduate of the University of Toledo with two Associates of Applied Business in both Business Management and Marketing and Sales. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Health  and Wellness Education for the General Population with the University of Toledo. Her certification is through the National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF). Dana is a not only a personal trainer at LCCC but she is also a fitness assistant at the fitness center and a facilitator for the Adventure Challenge Ropes Course. She is also employed at the Medina County Career Center (Joint Vocational School) where she substitute teaches for juniors and seniors in the Sports Fitness Program, Anatomy and Physiology, Diversified Medical Technology and wherever else she may be needed. Dana loves her jobs as it gives her the opportunity to work with a wide range of people and educate them with the knowledge she has obtained and get them to where self and health and fitness are priorities. She is very motivational and ready to design a personal program to meet your strength, toning or weight loss wants whether you are a beginning or advanced exerciser, athlete or weekend warrior.

Kristie Parker-Harrold
AFAA Certified Personal Trainer

Kristie is a certified personal trainer through Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.  She has her A.A.S. in Sports & Fitness Management from LCCC.  She also has her B.S.A.S in Allied Health from Youngstown State.  She is employed by LCCC working in the fitness center as a fitness assistant and also works at the Ohio Assembly Ford Plant in the fitness center.  In addition she is a CPR Instructor and is certified with the Aquatics Exercise Association as an Aquatics Personal Trainer and Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor.  Kristie has worked with individuals varying in age and likes to help her clients reach their goals by tailoring a program to meet their individual needs and using positive reinforcement.

Kathleen M. Resar
ACE Certified Personal Trainer
Kathleen is a graduate of Kent State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, with a Fitness Specialist Concentration. Along with her American Council on Exercise (ACE) certification as a Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor,   Kathleen is also certified through American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health/Fitness Instructor. She has worked as a Fitness Instructor at LCCC Fitness Center since January 1989, and has taught several Physical Education classes as an Adjunct Faculty member since the Fall of 1989.  Kathleen has gone through the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program.

Deb Lansman
AFAA Certified Personal Trainer
Deb is a graduate of Lorain County Community College with her Associate of Applied Science in Sports & Fitness Management, Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Training, and Certificate of Completion for Group Exercise Instructor. Deb is a certified personal trainer and a certified group fitness instructor through AFAA with certifications to teach KickBoxing, Power House Pilates, Yoga and Spinning.  Along with the classes she teaches at LCCC Deb teaches group and corporate fitness and personal trains in her own community.

Andy Dodd
NCSF-CPT
Andy is a graduate of Lorain County Commuity College with his Applied Science in Sports and Fitness Management and Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Training.  He has also received his Associate of Arts Degree from Lorain County Community College. Andy is currently working on his Bachelor's in Sports and Fitness Management through the University Partnership program with the University of Akron.  His certification is with National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF-CPT).  Andy is also AED certified and CPR certified through the Amercian Heart Association.  He is also First Aid & Safety certified through American Red Cross.  Andy currently works for LCCC as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.  He is prepared to develop an individualized exercise program for you based on your personal goals and needs.

Andrew Dito
NCSF-CPT

Andy is a graduate of Lorain County Community College with his Associate of Applied Science degree in Sports and Fitness Management and Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Training. He also has an Associate of Arts degree from the Community College of Aurora in Colorado. He is certificed as a personal trainer through NCSF as well as pursing his Bachelors degree in Sport and Exercise Science through the University of Akron. He is also currently part of our HPER staff here at LCCC as a fitness center instructor and is CPR/AED certified through the American Heart Association. Andy has also been involved with youth and high school athletics for the past 12 years as a pitching coach for baseball and football coach and has experience implementing training programs with those groups, however looks forward to working with all age groups in helping them attain their health and fitness goals.
