Sports Programs at LCCC

The Health, Physical Education and Recreation division provides a diverse recreational and competitive sports opportunity for the students, faculty and staff of Lorain County Community College and community members.

  • Club Sports
    Competitive Clubs may involve trying out for the club. These clubs compete with other university sponsored club teams, two and four year sports teams. These clubs charge a participation fee to its members for these athletic activities. Club sports are available in:

    Other Frequently Asked Questions

    How many seasons may I participate in sports?
    Athletes are permitted two (2) seasons of competition at any NJCAA institution, if they have not participated in any intercollegiate level during the two previous seasons.   Participating in one or more regularly scheduled events prior to post-season competition uses up a season of eligibility.

    Is housing available?
    No housing is available.

    Are there athletic scholarships available?
    At this time no athletic scholarships are available.  The LCCC Financial Aid Department will work with the athlete to assemble the best financial aid package possible for eligible students.

    Is there travel involved?
    Athletes will possibly travel to all states surrounding Ohio and perhaps further depending upon championship events or tournaments.

    Is student medical insurance available?
    At this time athletes are required to carry their own medical insurance. An Athletic Trainer will be available during home competitions.

    Is there a fee to participate?
    There is a players fee.   Each sport has a different fee.

    Athlete Code of Conduct 

    • All LCCC Club Sports athletes are expected to follow the guidelines created by the HPER and LCCC catalog.  Anytime guidelines are willfully ignored or violated disciplinary procedures will be instituted.
    • Coaches and Athletes - may be disciplined for actions that are not in the best interest of LCCC.
    • Any action that goes against a verbal or written guideline will result in disciplinary action.
    • Athletes must read, understand and sign the Code of Conduct Agreement before participating in any LCCC Sports program.
