Housing Options for International Students
The Office of International Student Services assists all students with their housing needs. Most international students either live in apartments or with relatives. LCCC does not have dormitories.
Apartment Option
Although many students live with relatives in the Lorain County area, most international students live in apartments either with roommates or by themselves. Apartments allow students the most independence of all options. There are however, several limitations to apartments. Most apartments are unfurnished so students must either purchase or rent their own furniture. LCCC maintains a Furniture Bank and lends students a limited number of furnishings. Apartment costs will vary from $400/month for a single room apartment to $550/month for a two bedroom apartment. Utilities such as electricity, water and cable television are usually extra and may add another $50/month to your costs. Another limitation to apartments is grocery shopping and meal cooking. Shopping is difficult without a car and many students do not have cars and instead ride the bus. Landlords will usually ask for a deposit and one month's rent.
Below is a brief list of local, reliable landlords where students presently live, or where they have lived in the past. You are welcome to contact these landlords prior to arrival at LCCC.
