Registering for Classes - New Students

Registration Steps for New Students

If you are a new LCCC student and registering for classes for the first time, please follow these steps to ensure you are on the right path.

If you were previously a PSEO, COPP, CCP, or Tech Prep student, you may not need to complete steps one, two, and/or four.

Step One

Apply to Lorain County Community College:  www.lorainccc.edu/admission
Complete your application at the link above or in person at the Enrollment Services front desk, at an LCCC Learning Center or via mail.

Step Two

Complete the Compass Assessmentwww.lorainccc.edu/compass
To assist you in reaching your goals, LCCC offers an assessment test- the Compass. The Compass will help identify both your strengths and areas of needed enhancement in reading, writing, and math before scheduling classes. If you have AP, ACT or SAT test scores or transfer credits, you may be exempt from LCCC’s Compass assessment test.

Step Three

Create a MyCampus Account and Complete the College Student Inventory: http://mycampus.lorainccc.edu.
MyCampus is the online tool LCCC students use to register for classes, view grades and much more. Log into MyCampus at http://mycampus.lorainccc.edu and find the link to the CSI on the left side of the screen. The College Student Inventory (CSI) is a survey that each new student is required to complete. The CSI helps create an open dialog, which may be with an advisor, counselor and/or student success coach, regarding individual supports and challenges you may face in starting college.

Step Four

Attend an Orientation Session
www.lorainccc.edu/orientation
Attend an on-campus Orientation (recommended)
