Registration Steps for Transfer Students

If you are transferring credits from another college or university, please follow these steps to ensure you are on the right track.


 

Step One

Apply to Lorain County Community College:  www.lorainccc.edu/admission
Complete your application in person at the Enrollment Services front desk, at an LCCC Learning Center or via mail. 

Step Two

Complete and return the Transcript Evaluation Request form at www.lorainccc.edu/transfer.

Step Three

Complete the COMPASS Assessmentwww.lorainccc.edu/compass
To assist you in reaching your goals, LCCC offers an assessment test- the COMPASS. The COMPASS will help identify both your strengths and areas of needed enhancement in reading, writing, and math before scheduling classes. If you have AP, ACT, or SAT test scores or transfer credits, you may be exempt from LCCC’s Compass assessment test.

Note:  transfer students must have successfully completed College Level English and Math to be exempt from assessment.

Step Four

Attend an Orientation Session:  www.lorainccc.edu/orientation
Attend an on-campus Orientation (recommended) and complete your College Student Inventory (CSI) or complete the online orientation with quiz component and CSI through your MyCampus account at http://mycampus.lorainccc.edu/

Step Five

Meet with an Advisor/Counselor to Register for Classeswww.lorainccc.edu/advising
Meet with an Academic Advisor or Counselor to review your transfer credits and course placement and register for courses. (New students are not permitted to register online until first meeting with an Advisor or Counselor.)

Step Six

Pay Your Bill
Remember to complete your FAFSAas a first step in applying for Financial Aid. Learn more at www.lorainccc.edu/financialaid. You can also pay with cash, check or credit card and/or sign up for a payment plan at www.lorainccc.edu/tuition.

Extended Hours for Spring Registration

Enrollment, Financial and Career Services will be open 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday beginning Monday, November 17.

Register now and get a $10 Starbucks gift card. The first 500 students who register or add a class to their current Spring schedule beginning today will receive a $10 Starbucks Gift Card. Students can collect their gift card in LCCC’s Enrollment Services desk in the Bass Library.

Already registered? You have a chance to win, too. Add a class to your current Spring schedule and you will also be eligible for a gift card. Plus, everyone who registered for Spring classes before Monday, November 17 is automatically entered into a drawing for their choice of a Gold iPad or Gold iPad mini. iPad winners will be announced Friday, November 21.

Midterm Grades Now Available

Fall Semester students are encouraged to check midterm grades by logging into MyCampus going to the Student Center. Please refer to www.lorainccc.edu/grades for detailed instructions.

MyTuition Guarantee

LCCC students now have the opportunity to participate in the MyTuition Guarantee. This new program holds tuition and fee rates for students registering in fall 2014 and spring 2015 for up to three years or until the completion of a degree, whichever comes first.
