Registration Steps for Transfer Students

If you are transferring credits from another college or university, please follow these steps to ensure you are on the right track.


Step One

Apply to Lorain County Community College:
Complete your application in person at the Enrollment Services front desk, at an LCCC Learning Center or via mail. 

Step Two

Complete and return the Transcript Evaluation Request form at

Step Three

Complete the COMPASS
To assist you in reaching your goals, LCCC offers an assessment test- the COMPASS. The COMPASS will help identify both your strengths and areas of needed enhancement in reading, writing, and math before scheduling classes. If you have AP, ACT, or SAT test scores or transfer credits, you may be exempt from LCCC’s Compass assessment test.

Note:  transfer students must have successfully completed College Level English and Math to be exempt from assessment.

Step Four

Attend an Orientation Session:
Attend an on-campus Orientation (recommended) and complete your College Student Inventory (CSI) or complete the online orientation with quiz component and CSI through your MyCampus account at

Step Five

Meet with an Advisor/Counselor to Register for
Meet with an Academic Advisor or Counselor to review your transfer credits and course placement and register for courses. (New students are not permitted to register online until first meeting with an Advisor or Counselor.)

Step Six

Pay Your Bill
Remember to complete your FAFSAas a first step in applying for Financial Aid. Learn more at You can also pay with cash, check or credit card and/or sign up for a payment plan at
