4/12/13 – Golfers Continue to Roll

Under very cold, windy, and sometimes rainy conditions, the LCCC Men's Golf Team performed well on the second day of the Cincinnati State Tournament.  The Commodores have stepped it up from the team’s performance of last year, however, everyone else in our conference have also stepped up their performances.  Again, LCCC had three players who had a good outing on the golf course.  Ian Sooy (Open Door) shot an 81, while Fred Senghas (Wellington) and Roman King (Elyria) both shot 84.  Russell Thomas, our #4 golfer this weekend, is improving every week.  Individually, Sooy is ranked 15th in the league, Senghas is ranked 17th, and King is ranked 23rd.

4/11/13 - Best Match in Two Years at Cincinnati State Tournament

The Men's Golf Team opened the Spring season at the Kent State Tuscauraus Golf Invitational. Two of the golfers led the way for the team. The other 8 schools were four-year satellite campuses for Ohio State, Ohio University, and Kent State University.

April 20, 2012  Columbus St Invt'l

This day's tournament was played in very difficult conditions with a stiff wind that allowed just two golfers in the entire field of over 30 participants to break a score of 80.  The LCCC Golf Team was still unable to get untracked in the adverse conditions to compete in line with the team's abilities.  Mitch Clark (North Ridgeville) lead the Commodores with a score of 91.

April 13, 2012 OCCAC Southern Open Invt'l

The LCCC Commodores got their first look at the golf course they will be targeting later in the season in May for the NJCAA DIII Regional Championship, WeatherWax GC. Unfortunately, the first meeting of golfers vs golf course was won by the golf course. The only LCCC player to break 90 was Mitch Clark (North Ridgeville) with an 89. The Commodores return to WeatherWax May 12.

April 12, 2012 Cincinnati State Invt'l

April 7, 2012 Kent State-Tuscarawas Invt'l

Better weather over the weekend at Oak Shadows GC still didn't give the LCCC Men's Golf Team the help that was needed. Poor putting was the deciding factor in high scores by the team. Low score was posted by Ian Sooy (Open Door) with a 90. Danny Reaser (Elyria Catholic) posted a 91 and Vince Vitale (Firelands) contributed a 92.

March 31-April 1, 2012 Capital University Purple & White Inv'l (2nd Round)

The 2nd round of the tournament held at the Foxfire "Players Course" didn't help much for the LCCC Men's Golf Team. The "Player's Course" is a difficult tournament golf course with very demanding narrow fairways and difficult golf holes. Danny Reaser (Elyria Catholic) had the low score for LCCC with a 88. Vince Vitale posted a 91.

March 31-April 1, 2012 Capital University Purple & White Invt'l (1st Round)
