Continuing Professional Education now available at LCCC

If you’re a CPA, CMA or CFP and looking for CPEs to keep up with your professional requirements, LCCC is now offering training to meet your needs!

LCCC is registered with the Accountancy Board of Ohio and partners with The Ohio Society of CPAs.

If you would like to request a course or your organization would like training specifically for your staff, please contact Lori Peters lpeters@lorainccc.edu.

Professional Standards and Responsibilities - Ethical Shifts: Interpretations & Actions

Set and manage ethical expectations in all aspects of your career and satisfy the Accountancy Board of Ohio's professional standards and responsibilities course requirement. Updated for 2011, this session will help you improve your understanding of how societal shifts in moral and ethical behavior are changing systems, processes, and impacting decision making in business today. Integrate ethical concepts and crosschecks into your training, auditing, tax, and financial reporting procedures. This course investigates resources and tools available to CPAs to maintain an ethical course and positively influence the behavior of clients and employers.

Tax Updates for CPAs

This course will cover major tax updates and changes including but not limited to: individual, business, retirement, investments and estate tax provisions. We will summarize major provisions of new tax legislation, cases, and regulations. The course is a great tool for professionals and staff alike to easily bring their professional knowledge up to speed.

Fraud Schemes : How to Detect and Prevent Them

Find out how many costly fraudulent schemes continue to succeed and more importantly, how you can recognize the red flags to avoid them. This course will provide descriptions and use real-world examples to identify how these major frauds are perpetrated and the types of cost effective controls that can be implemented by both small and large businesses and non-profit entities to identify and prevent these deceptive acts. This course qualifies for CMA and CFM.
