Project Management Professional (PMP) Training coming to LCCC!
Project management is one of the top skill sets demanded by organizations around the world as more than $12 trillion is spent on projects. Many skilled practitioners are leaving or scheduled to leave the workforce due to retirement — a trend the Society of Human Resources (SHRM) identifies as having a major strategic impact for 64% of organizations worldwide. Who should apply?-The PMP recognizes demonstrated competence in leading and directing project teams. If you’re an experienced project manager looking to solidify your skills, stand out to employers and maximize your earning potential, the PMP credential is the right choice for you.
PMP Requirements
To apply for the PMP, you need to have either:
- A four-year degree (bachelor’s or the global equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
OR
- A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
Classes will begin in late April-June, 2 evenings per week.
An introductory Project Management course will also be offered this Spring for those who prefer a more fundamentals course.

4G LTE (Long Term Evolution Seminar)- The next evolution in Mobile internet
Long Term Evolution (LTE)- the latest standard in the mobile network technology tree that previously realized the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSxPA network technologies. The LTE specification provides downlink peak rates of at least 100 Mbps, an uplink of at least 50 Mbps and RAN round-trip times of less than 10 ms.
The LTE seminar will explore this exciting new cellular technology. Seminar will cover the following: LTE technology including Femtocells, LTE Markets Enterprise, Consumer, Telematics,1st responder and DoD. Also, end user devices such as iphones, droids and other end user equipment. Highlights of new LTE-Advanced standard will be presented.
Attendees must be professionals in the Networking field. This seminar is not for the beginner or those who have a casual interest in networking.
This course will be available again in 2012.
Introduction to IPv6- participants will learn the features of the IPv6 protocol and deployment considerations to coexist with IPv4. Focus will be on understanding how the protocol differs from IPv4 and new security issues that could be exploited in IPv6. A hands-on lab will demonstrate the configuration elements of routers, Windows and Linux host computers.

Doug has over 30 years of experience in support, design and managing the infrastructure and networks for a number of large international networks. Doug currently teaches network engineering and IT security courses at Lorain County Community College and The University of Akron. Mr Huber possesses a CISSP, GCIH, CCNP and CCDP certifications and holds a Masters in Economics.
