Whether you need training for your workforce or professional certifications to move your career forward, LCCC has the IT training and certification programs you need.
Employers, IT workers and students have told us what they need to advance in the IT job market. Courses may be taken at LCCC or at the workplace. Many courses can also be taken online.
Networking Skills:
- Network + Certification – Validate your knowledge as a network professional and demonstrate a wide range of skills required in today’s network environments. Network + covers two main areas: Networking Technology and Networking Practices. This course is a first step into networking, and prepares you for the certification exam. You may also use this course, along with A+, as prerequisites for the IT Fast Track Program.
- MS 2272 – Implementing and Supporting MS Windows XP Professional – implement and support desktop needs in a variety of stand-alone and network operating system environments using MS Windows XP Professional
- MS 2274 – Managing an MS Windows Server 2003 Environment – Manage accounts and resources in an MS Windows Server 2003 environment
- MS 2275 – Maintaining an MS Windows Server 2003 Environment – Maintain server resources, monitor server performance, and safeguard data on a computer running one of the operating systems in the MS Windows Server 2003 family
- Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT)- Prepares you for entry level network technician career. First step in attaining your CCNA. Click here for program detail sheet.
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) – LCCC offers the CCNA program for college credit as well as non-credit. Courses are taught on-campus using the Cisco training program. Train to become a Network Administrator in four semesters.
Security Skills:
- Fundamentals of PC Security
Targeted toward small and medium sized businesses Gain understanding in various security issues such as protecting yourself from malicious users on the Internet; signs and symptoms of an attack; select and use anti spyware, anti spam products and more; how to clean up your computer so your system will run efficiently, saving hours of time, money and frustration. Prerequisites – basic web browsing and computer skills.
- IT Security for Business Certification - Network Security Fundamentals
Defend your organization’s network. Understand the overall security process with emphasis in the areas of security policy design and management, security technologies, products and solutions, firewall and secure router design, installation, configuration, maintenance, AAA implementation and VPN implementation using routers and firewalls. Exciting labs will take place in an ongoing Cyber Defense environment in a collaborative arrangement with Baldwin Wallace College.
Prerequisite – Security+, or basic networking and server skills.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
CISSP® is a federally registered certification mark of ISC2. Provided by ISC2, prepare to pass the six-hour exam targeted toward professionals with current IT experience and education in information security.
Project Management:
- CompTIA Project+ is a globally recognized project management certification that provides validation of fundamental project management skills. It covers the entire project life cycle from initiation and planning through execution, acceptance, support and closure. There are no prerequisites,and candidates are not required to submit an application or complete additional hours of continuing education.
- MS Project – Use planning methods and tools to improve project planning and scheduling in your organization. Create project plans and milestones, work with project resources, handle scheduling conflicts, track progress and much more.
Programming Languages: HTML, ASP.net, Java, SQL, VB, XML, C++
- Programming Fundamentals with VBA- become familiar with the programming environment and begin to automate daily work processes. This foundation course will help to migrate to higher level programming courses such as VB.net. Must have basic user experience with Excel and Word.
- Intro to Programming Using VB.net- Learn to create basic Windows form, multiple form applications and basic web applications in VB.net.
Webpage Design:
- Intro to Webpage Design-Include training to create your own webpage as well as search engine optimization techniques.
Help Desk:
- The Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification will get you started in your IT career. It ensures you have the skills to successfully support end-users running software applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc. and troubleshooting desktop environments that run on the Microsoft Windows operating system. You will be prepared to sit for the national certification exam to become a Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician. Click here for Program Detail Sheet.
