The Morning Journal and Lorain County Community College, in conjunction with the Community Foundation of Lorain County, First Place Bank, GLIDE, the Lorain County Growth Partnership, Lorain County JVS and Team Lorain County will  recognize the fastest growing new and established companies in Lorain, Erie and Huron counties. The top thirty companies (15 new and 15 established) are selected based on average sales and employment growth.

To qualify for the award, companies must meet the following criteria:

1. Located in Lorain, Erie or Huron counties, or have a major facility located in this region.
2. Organized for profit.
3. Have been in business for a minimum of five years.
4. Sales figures for any business in 2006 of at least $50,000 (all sales figures will be kept strictly confidential).

The companies that were selected for the 2011 Golden 30 Award wre honored at the annual recognition dinner on November 17, 2011 at the Spitzer Conference Center on the LCCC campus.
