GLOLMCGLOLMC Services

Since 1993, Great Lakes OLMC has assisted:

  • 5-20 businesses and other organizations each year
  • Over 80% were small to medium sized organizations

Without the GLOLMC, many of the organizations that are not able to afford high-priced consultants would have lost the opportunity to improve efficiency, competitiveness, and involvement.

State funding enables GLOLMC service fees to range from $500 to $1600 per day, as compared to the average private consulting charges of $2000 to $5000 or more per day.
The GLOLMC works together with the network of not-for-profit providers in the State to deliver quality services.

This means lower costs and greater availability of high-quality services to northern Ohio's businesses when utilizing the GLOLMC.

What Do GLOLMC Customers Say?

“A neutral third party is significant.  We had other things on our plate and that third party's focus was to make sure that those meetings happened, and that the trainings happened and the training was facilitated. That's what made it work and that's significant. Now, with our managers  meeting on a monthly basis with the union stewards, the master mechanics, and the business agents from the union locals, you're putting faces with names and you're developing relationships, which is the first step in developing communications.”
Jim Conlon, Stein, Inc.

We strongly endorse the BuiltRite process as a key contributor to a successful project. Communication is such an important aspect of any project, and the structured approach to communication among the stakeholders, the owner, contractors and the building trades, is invaluable.  We are able to identify opportunities for improvement as the project develops and implement those opportunities in a collaborative way, and the most effective manner.  We appreciate the spirit of cooperation and the ownership that the process facilitates, as shown by all the dedication of all parties to safety, productivity, and quality of work.”
Rick Mahon, USS, Lorain Pipe Mills

“The focus of attention from all parties is the BuiltRite agenda which guides all meetings.  Top level owner representatives, contractors and leadership from the Building Trades form the project Steering Team.  Consensus is reached on project guidelines and policies. Commitment is demonstrated through their involvement.  All is achieved through participation on a project by everyone.
Mike Sherman, State UA Organizer & Member UA Local # 42
