LCCC's Commitment to Virtual Work

The LCCC Commitment To Virtual Work

Virtual WorkLCCC believes that if more local workers become proficient at virtual work, it will benefit numerous local employers. Plus, employers from both inside and outside our community will have access to a pool of skilled virtual workers.

Through this program, LCCC is making an investment in Northeast Ohio economic development, enhancing the potential and value of its workforce, increasing employment in a unique and contemporary way, reducing congested commuter traffic, and accelerating the use of mobile technology to improve the quality of life in the community.

The vision for the employer initiative is to create a virtual work model for Northeast Ohio, which will prove the business, social and economic benefits of virtual work with the initial participants. Ultimately, this can create a catalyst for other qualified employers in the region who may benefit from implementing a virtual work program.

Three Credit-Hour Course: Mastering Virtual Work

In addition to the virtual work employer initiative, LCCC is offering a unique three credit-hour course called “Mastering Virtual Work” as an elective in our business-degree coursework. The course provides participants a clear understanding of the significant changes that continue to occur in the workplace as a result of mobile technology, how these changes affect workforce performance, collaboration, efficiency, management, planning and cultural change, and to how perform successfully as a virtual worker and/or virtual office manager.

Students attending Mastering Virtual Work will understand virtual work as an advanced workplace strategy. The course is designed to help workers of all ages to advance in their careers in human resources, facilities management, business development, and executive management positions. The course will also provide important foundational knowledge to individuals with the responsibility of implementing and managing a virtual work program within their organization.

LCCC Goals As An Employer

Because LCCC always practices what it teaches, LCCC is implementing a virtual work program for its own operations. LCCC is committed to making virtual work an option available to its qualifying employees and has already begun planning its virtual work program.
