How To Participate As An Employer
LCCC is seeking local employers willing to invest in the adoption of a virtual workplace model within their organization. Four selected employers will receive, at no charge, a ‘Virtual Work Assessment’ to identify specific benefits, values and potential next steps.
LCCC has engaged experts in Virtual Workplace Programs to assist local firms in getting these programs started.
The selected companies will also participate in a Virtual Work Program Roundtable which will collect data on results, share best practices, and direct future program activities to best support other local employers. Because LCCC always practices what it teaches, we are implementing a virtual work program for our own operations.
As An Employer, Why Should I Join The Program?
Program Benefits
Community involvement: Part of the solution
We have no doubt that virtual work will remain an ever-increasing practice in our community, strengthening our workforce and its employers for decades to come. This emerging trend in the workplace is an opportunity, and a challenge, to all of us in the Northeast Ohio area to improve the competitiveness of our local firms and the quality of our workforce, both of which are critical to our future economic growth. Your participation in this program will help strengthen the community’s resolve to make Northeast Ohio a better place to live.
Access to consulting
LCCC has contracted with a leading national consulting firm currently working with nearly a dozen Fortune 500 companies to establish or expand their virtual work program. Working with a consortium of local professionals, this consulting firm, e-Work.com, Inc., will be performing the initial Virtual Work Program Assessments, and will remain available to assist employers in the process of planning, developing, creating, deploying and monitoring its virtual work program using current best practices.
Collaboration with other organizations
Employers selected for participation in the virtual work program will also participate in a program review roundtable. This roundtable will be facilitated by LCCC and will focus on collecting data on program results, sharing best practices, and directing future program activities to best support other local employers.
How Do I Apply For A No-Charge Assessment?
Click here to complete a brief questionnaire to allow the Virtual Work Consulting Team to make a preliminary assessment on whether the appropriate fundamental conditions exist at your organization for virtual work. You will be contacted by a member of our Virtual Work Consulting Team who will explain the assessment process, will answer any questions you may have about participating, then will ask some additional questions on organization type, size, industry, and potential to be a model for other organizations to emulate. This information will be used to help the team make a final selection on program participants.
What Will I Gain From A Virtual Work Assessment?
If you are one of the four employers chosen for the no-charge Virtual Work Assessment, the Virtual Work Consulting Team will interview executives in your organization, seeking detailed information, ultimately provide a detailed assessment of the potential benefits of a virtual work program, a set of preliminary program objectives and projected program milestones for a successful program at your location.
As a result of the assessment, the Virtual Work Consulting Team will present executive management with Virtual Work Program Planning Document that provides:
- Primary issues in the organization that could be solved through virtual work
- A list of primary and secondary objectives that could be met through virtual work
- A program timeline draft, plus a list of potential program milestones and key program events
- A preliminary list of major program deliverables that are typical of a program under similar circumstances
- A list of recommended next steps for launching the first phase of the virtual work program.
