SITT Center Services

SITT Center - Services

The Sensor Integration and Technology Testing (SITT) Center at Lorain County Community College is FDT Group’s first independent authorized body in the Americas for testing and evaluation of both Device DTMs (Device Type Managers) and COMM DTMs for compliance with FDT specifications 1.2 and soon FDT2.0. SITT’s qualified technicians provide FDT’s DTM compliance and pre-testing services. Not only does the SITT Center perform FDT conformance testing, in 2014 SITT plans to enhance their service offerings with a fieldbus interoperability/integration test lab and related manufacturer and protocol training. The SITT Center is also the home base of the FDT North American Marketing Remote FDT Demo which is used to demonstrate FDT technology throughout the US and Canada via the internet.

The fieldbus test lab, appropriately named the “Process Integration Lab”, will allow end users, integrators, and developers to engage in fieldbus education and proactive HART multi-drop network in the Process Integration Labintegration strategies in a vendor neutral setting. The manufacturer independent lab is in the midst of being equipped with intelligent field devices, frame applications, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) based on the most common communication protocols. Some of the intended uses for the space include software and hardware interoperability testing, integration testing, and workforce development training for software/hardware developers, end users, and system integrators.

SITT is presently engaging network foundations and manufacturers of fieldbus equipment to present their training on the campus of Lorain County Community College (LCCC). Centrally located in Northern Ohio, LCCC and the SITT Center are within 25 minutes from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. With many affordable hotel options nearby, LCCC facilities makes the SITT Center a suitable option for hosting multiple-day events.
