Vehicle Accidents

Getting Help with a Motor Vehicle Accident

Contact the Campus Security office in CC 102, ext. 4444, or report the accident directly to any Campus Security Officer.  If emergency services are required, so advise so that they may be summoned.

Stay at the scene until Campus Security arrives.  Provide a statement describing how the accident happened and other data including make/model/year of vehicle, names of witnesses, and license, registration, insurance information, etc.

Routinely, the Elyria Police Department will not be summoned unless there is personal injury and/or property damage in excess of $500.  If either party desires the Elyria Police Department to respond, Campus Security will make such a request.

Campus Security will prepare a report of the accident and principals may obtain a copy at the Campus Security Office within 72 hours after the accident.
