Rapid Response Training on LCCC Campus

As part of Lorain County Community College's commitment to ensuring a safe campus environment, Campus Security Officers, working in conjunction with Elyria Police Officers, will be conducting a series of simulated rapid-response drills on campus.

These drills will be conducted from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on the following Fridays:

  • June 20
  • June 27
  • July 11
  • July 18
  • July 25
  • August 1

During these drills, you will see Elyria Police officers with their weapons drawn as they make entry into a specific building.  You may also hear the sounds of simulated gunshots inside the building.  Please note that these are not live, and the sound is only a simulation.

If you are on our campus during these days and witness these events, please keep in mind these are only simulations.  These exercises are necessary to prepare and train our Campus Security Officers and Elyria Police Officers to properly and safely respond to a critical incident, ensure the health and safety of our campus community members and test the capabilities of our campus emergency operations plan.
