Continuing Education for Physicians

Lorain County Community College, through the Lorain County Physician/Community College Continuing Medical Education Consortium, offers category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits for physicians. The CME program is accredited by the Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA).
CME credits are offered by Lorain County Community College on a cost-neutral basis as a service to the medical communities of Lorain and surrounding counties. The cost to physicians is only about $10 per category 1 CME credit. Plus, physicians have an opportunity to network with their colleagues in a convenient, central location.

About the Program This seminar is designed for physicians, nurses and allied health professionals who desire more information about current cardiovascular issues. As a result of attending this program, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the importance of early diagnosis and initiating effective, guidelinebased
strategies in the treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
- Identify the process to improve door-to-balloon time for treatment of ST-Segment
Elevation Myocardial Infarctions (STEMIs) and improve guideline-based therapies of treatment post Myocardial Infarction (MI), both STEMI and Non-STEMI
- Describe guideline-based therapies or appropriate exclusions for these guidelines of care
- Discuss improvement in the selection of patients with Chronic Stable Angina (CSA) who may benefit from revascularization over and above aggressive routine medical care
- Demonstrate the benefit of more aggressive/earlier preventative management strategies for the treatment of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) to lessen future burden and cost of cardiovascular care with improved outcomes and functionality
- Identify the results of recently released Clinical Trial Data from the 57th Annual American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions
