The purpose of the LCCC ABLE/GED Scholarship is to encourage GED recipients who participate in Lorain County’s ABLE programs to continue their education by enrolling at Lorain County Community College soon after successfully passing the GED test.

If you do not have a high school diploma, getting your GED is the first step in your college career. In order to qualify to take the GED Examination you need to do the following:
Complete your GED application. Click here for the application and more information.
Have completed GED application notarized by a notary public. You can have this done at most banks and law offices.
Submit a $55 fee (money order or certified check) or a fee waiver with your completed GED application. Fee waivers can be attained by successfully completing a GED Pretest. Free pre-testing services are offered throughout the county at the Adult Basic Literacy in Education (ABLE) Centers. Click here for a list of area ABLE centers.
When you have completed the steps above, call (800) 995-5222, extension 4012 to schedule an appointment for your GED test. Seating is limited, so call for your appointment as soon as possible.
