All graduating LCCC and UP students who march in the 2016 Commencement Ceremony will be entered into a drawing to win one of three iPads to be given away at Commencement!

Students who have completed an associate degree, certificate of proficiency, short-term technical certificate, or University Partnership degree during Summer 2015, Fall 2015, Spring 2016, or Summer 2016 are all eligible to participate in this year’s May Commencement as long as a Graduation Request Form is filed no later than March 11, 2016.

Join us to celebrate your hard work and wonderful accomplishments at this year’s Commencement Ceremony, and you may be one of three lucky students going home with your very own iPad.

Fun Facts - Commencement 2016:

  • This is Lorain County Community College’s 52nd Commencement and the last for our college president, Dr. Church, who has announced his retirement. Help us make this Commencement a memorable one as we say goodbye to and celebrate new beginnings for Dr. Church and our graduates.
  • We are anticipating 600+ students will march, which means we will have an overall attendance of 3,500. Last year more than 550 students crossed the stage.
  • Pre-orders for DVDs of the Ceremony will be accepted at the reception following the ceremony. DVDs will be available in the bookstore after June 1, 2016 and can be ordered online at
  • Professional photos will be taken of every student receiving their diploma. The photographer will contact students in the week following the ceremony with information on how to purchase photos. Proofs will be available for viewing online through a secure site.
  • iPads will be given away to three lucky students toward the end of the ceremony-you must be present to win.
  • You and your guests are invited to stay and enjoy the Student Life picnic in the courtyard as well as the cake and punch reception in College Center Commons. This is a great time for photos with your favorite faculty and classmates – photo station will be available.
  • Visit LCCC’s facebook photo album to see photos from the 2015 event.
