Important Registration Information for New Students

      

Prior to registering for class, new students must first complete the following:

  • Student Orientation
  • College Student Inventory
  • Meet with an advisor/counselor

Important for LCCC PSEO Students

PSEO Students at Lorain County Community College are expected to read and know their responsibilities as part of the PSEO program.  This information for PSEO students is found online at: www.lorainccc.edu/pseo.

New students, current students and returning students

Everyone wants to be successful in college and connect to a future career. With the right tools and knowledge, all students can start strong. The Career Advantage New Student Orientation is designed to connect students to available resources and benefits and provide a firm understanding of what is expected of students in college.

Each new student is required to:

  1. Attend on-campus Career Advantage New Student Orientation (recommended) or complete the online orientation and quiz through MyCampus
  2. Complete the College Student Inventory during an on-campus Career Advantage New Student Orientation or online through MyCampus.  (The College Student Inventory is (CSI)* and how to use it to make important choices.
    CSI is an online assessment that helps to identify your strengths and weaknesses in academic preparation, motivation, and career decision making to provide a career advantage. This assessment is administered as part of the orientation session.)
  3. Meet with an academic advisor or counselor. (New students are not permitted to register online until first meeting with an advisor or counselor.)

The Career Advantage New Student Orientation will ensure a strong start in college and is required for all new students prior to registration for classes.  Please make sure you arrive promptly at the start of Orientation. Arriving late could result in the need to reschedule for a future Orientation date. Thank you.

  • How to navigate the MyCampus Student Portal
  • How to apply for and maximize Financial Aid benefits
  • How to connect to student support services and resources 
  • How to access your LCCC email account

The Career Advantage New Student Orientation is also offered at the LCCC Wellington Center and the Midpoint Campus Center in Brunswick.

  3.
