DRESS
The purpose of the Commencement exercise is to provide the opportunity for the college to formally recognize and acknowledge the achievement of students who have met institutional requirements for a degree/certificate.  While it is designed to be a dignified event, the college recognizes it is also a time of joy and elation for graduates and their families and friends.  In this regard, the college encourages participants to exercise good judgment in respect to adding any adornment to traditional ceremonial regalia.  Please recognize the significance and purpose of the event and assure that any compliment to graduation attire is appropriate and in keeping with the spirit of the occasion.  While the traditional ceremonial gown provides ample coverage, participants are asked to refrain from wearing shorts and/or sandals.  We appreciate your cooperation.
