How to Apply for Financial Aid at LCCC

This page describes the steps needed to apply for financial aid at LCCC.  Please review the information carefully to get the most from your financial aid award.


1. 

Apply for a FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Pin Number at www.pin.ed.gov.  

  • Be sure to write down your Pin Number. You will need this number for other steps in this process.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.

  • You will be asked to enter your Pin Number.
  • You will be asked to enter LCCC's Federal School Code: 003068.
  • After three to five business days, proceed to step 3.

Log into MyCampus at www.lorainccc.edu/mycampus 

After logging in, click on Student Center.

Click the details of your "To Do List" to look for documents or actions required by you.

  • Permission Slip
    Students need to give permission to LCCC to apply available Title IV funds (Pell Grants and Stafford Loans) to pay for institutional charges other than tuition and fees including bookstore purchases, child care and bus passes. 
  • Other Outstanding Items
    Federal Law requires that a portion of LCCC’s financial aid recipients are selected for a verification process.  Items needed will be found in the “To Do List,” such as a Verification Worksheet, Federal Student Tax Return, etc.

View Your Financial Aid Award

  • Accept Your Student Loan
    By accepting your student loan in MyCampus, begins the processing of your student loan. Please see Federal Direct Student Loans.
  • Reduce Your Student Loan
    You have the option to reduce your student loan to the amount that you would like to borrow.
    Decline Your Student Loan
    You have the option to decline the student loan in MyCampus, if you do not want to borrow a loan.
  • Replace Your Student Loan with Federal Work Study
    You have the option to replace your Student Loan with Federal Work Study (FWS). You must first decline your Student Loan in MyCampus and be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours.  A separate application is required for FWS and is available in the Financial Services Center on the first floor of the Learning Resource Center.
