Faculty Training and Certification for Online and Blended Course Development
This online training in ANGEL is required for instructors who teach an Internet or Blended course for the first time. Four aspects of course development are covered: ANGEL technical components, quality course design,
instructional technologies and course delivery. Participants must design their courses and complete the training prior to the start of the semester/term. Faculty Mandatory Training Registration
Course Development using ANGEL: A Self-Paced Faculty Training Course
This online, self-paced training in ANGEL is for instructors who need technical instructions or professional development. Four aspects of course development are covered: ANGEL technical components, quality course design, instructional technologies and course delivery. The course is listed on each instructor’s ANGEL course page.
On-Campus Training Workshops
ANGEL Basic 1
CONTENT CREATION AND COURSE MAIL IN ANGEL

In this hands-on training session, instructors will learn the basics of creating ANGEL course content (folders, files, drop boxes and assessments) and communication tools (discussion forums and course mail). Also, instructors will explore resources available in the faculty self-paced, online training course.

ANGEL ASSESSMENTS: TESTS AND DROP BOXES

In this hands-on training session, participants will learn to create quizzes or tests, add different types of questions and set up question pools to minimize cheating. Participants will also create drop boxes and grade submissions using rubrics.

Content Migration in ANGEL: An Overview

In this session, presenters will demonstrate time-saving tools used in ANGEL to prepare courses for the next semester. Tools include: course copy, date manager, roster synchronization, Learning Object Repositories and backup. This session is recommended for instructors who have taught at least one semester using ANGEL.
Content Migration in ANGEL: Computer Lab Time

In this computer lab session, faculty will use the following ANGEL tools to prepare their courses for next semester: course copy, date manager, roster synchronization, Learning Object Repositories and backup. Participants are asked to bring course dates for the next semester.
Copyright in the Online Environment
- Do you need to understand copyright in the online environment and want to stay out of trouble? In this session, you will learn about: 1. Six rules to keep you out of trouble, 2. The Teach Act, 3. Fair Use Guidelines.
Discussion Forums and Rubrics
- Foster student interaction in your online, blended or land-based courses by using ANGEL Discussion Forums. In this hands-on workshop, presenters will demonstrate different examples of discussion forums. Participants will then create a discussion forum with instructions, questions and grading criteria using rubrics. Participants are asked to bring a discussion topic and questions.
Getting Your Course off to the Right Start

“The course introduction sets the tone for the course, lets students know what to expect, and provides guidance to ensure they get off to a good start,” according to the Quality MattersTM Rubric for Higher Education (2011-2013 Edition), General Standard 1. In this Jigsaw workshop, instructors will research and share tools in ANGEL to get students off to the right start. Course tours, introduction discussions and adding a student resources page will be explored.

SoftChalk is a content-authoring software that allows instructors to create interactive content in ANGEL.
Tips and Tools in ANGEL to Enhance Student Success
Video Creation and Publishing Hands-on Workshops (1.5 hours each):

Video Workshop I: Use Camtasia Relay and Camtasia Studio to create and publish video. (limited to 6 participants)

Video Workshop II: Use your iPad or iPhone to create video and publish it to iTunes U or YouTube. (bring your own device)
Open Computer Lab Time: ANGEL technical, SoftChalk, Video or Publisher Resources Assistance
