Disable Pop-Up Blockers
Pop-up blockers WILL stop certain items in ANGEL from not being displayed (taking tests, adding attachments to drop-boxes or email, using the HTML Editor to add images, etc.)
Pop-up blockers work in the background while you browse the Internet. When they detect a pop-up window that may be an unwanted advertisement, they automatically close the window. This can prevent ANGEL from performing properly.
The list of software with pop-up blocking capability grows constantly, so it is impossible to give comprehensive instructions that will work for all programs all the time. Here are some tips that may help.
Pop-up blocking functions are included in some anti-virus, Internet security, personal firewall, and browser programs. Disable the relevant setting in the program.
To disable pop-up blockers for ANGEL:
Launch your browser. On the menu bar click View -> Toolbars. Any browser toolbars (AOL, Google, MSN, etc.) should be listed there. A check mark beside a toolbar name means that controls for the toolbar are visible in your browser. If a toolbar is not visible, click beside the toolbar name to make it visible.
Below is a list of popular programs with pop-up blocking capability, along with tips for managing them from your toolbars. If you clicked View->Toolbars and no toolbars were listed, click Tools on your browser menu bar. If you see Pop-up blocker listed look for the sub-menu to turn it on or turn off.
Internet Explorer:
To disable this feature, click on the Tools menu on Internet Explorer. Then click Internet Options. Select the Privacy Tab. Uncheck the checkbox next to Block pop-ups. Click the Apply button. Click the OK button.
Norton Internet Security:
Double Click the Norton Icon
Click "Ad Blocking"
Click "Turn Off"
Google Toolbar:
Click on the Google Icon and click "Options."
In the Accessories Section deselect "Pop-Up Blocker."
Yahoo Toolbar:
Click on the "Pop-Up" Icon
Deselect "Enable Pop-Up Blocker." If this button does not appear in the Yahoo Toolbar, click the pencil icon.
From the Tools Menu in IE, you should also uncheck Yahoo Companion.
Mozilla Blocker:
Open the "Preferences" Menu (in the Edit menu for Windows, the Netscape/Mozilla menu for Macintosh).
Open the Privacy and Security Menu.Select Pop-up Windows and deselect "Block un-requested pop-ups."
Advant Blocker:
Follow the menu Tools->Advant Browser options->Ad blocker.
Deselect "Enable ad blocker."
PanicWare Basic:
On Internet Explorer, this installs a separate toolbar. Look for the icon that resembles a window. If you see an "x" is in that window, pop-ups are being blocked. Press the button and pop-ups will be allowed.
MSN Toolbar:
Place your mouse pointer over the Pop-Up Icon. If the message says "Pop-Up windows are being blocked, click to allow all pop-ups" then you should click on it.
Copilot-Viewpoint:
This may be disabled just for the ANGEL site. Click the button located to the right of the Pop-Up Bin tab and select OFF.
GuardWall, Guard IE Pop-Up Blocker (Pop-Up blocker 4.0):
Be sure your IE browser is at the ANGEL website. From the IE toolbar or the System Tray, click on GuardWall and check "always allow pop-ups/scripts from this website".
Open Zone Alarm:
Select Privacy->Main
In the Ad Blocking area, turn options to "Off."
