Allied Health & Nursing Division
The Allied Health & Nursing Division invites applications for the following full-time tenure track faculty position:
Health Information Technology Director
In a leadership role, along with his/her teaching duties, the incumbent will oversee and manage the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the Health Information Technology (HIT) Program. Duties and responsibilities will include managing all aspects of HIT program; prepare goals; develop and monitor budget; review, evaluate, direct implementation of HIT curricula and program; cultivate and maintain working relationships with appropriate community organizations; recruitment of students; and other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in healthcare and/or IT with direct experience in the last 3 years; minimum of 3 years of management experience; experience with electronic medical record; ability to market the program and recruit students; active membership in HIMSS, AMIA, AHIMA or a professional IT organization. A Masters degree in Health Information or Health Administration and college teaching experience preferred.
The starting salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, and is supported by a comprehensive fringe benefits package.
