Provost/Vice President

Lorain County Community College (LCCC)  http://www.lorainccc.edu  a dynamic comprehensive community college located 25 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio, near the shores of Lake Erie, serves approximately 14,000 students in Associate Degree programs and 3,000 in Bachelor’s and Graduate programs through the University Partnership Program.   LCCC serves a culturally diverse population by promoting education, economic, cultural and community development.  The College encourages lifelong learning by offering accessible and affordable academic, career-oriented and continuing education in its various credit and customized, non-credit offering.

Lorain County Community College invites applications for the position of Provost/Vice President for Academic and Learner Services.  The Provost reports directly to the President and serves as the Chief Academic and Student Services Officer for the College, responsible for the curricula and assessment of the institution, for leading the development and implementation of academic policy, providing leadership to and assuring professional development for the faculty, managing the processes through which teaching is conducted and administered and establishing academic policies on admissions, retention and graduation.  The successful candidate will help lead LCCC’s participation in the Achieving the Dream and Completion by Design initiatives and national collaborations in entrepreneurship education.

Preferred minimum qualifications include a doctorate from a regionally accredited institution; a strong commitment to the unique mission of community colleges, experience in higher education leadership, knowledge of emerging issues and trends in higher education, excellent communication skills, knowledge of curriculum issues, development and delivery, ability to communicate openly, effectively and to manage multiple priorities, ability to build and foster an environment of inclusion, openness and trust, continuous improvement, strategic planning and innovation.

The starting salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.  An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and is conditional based upon approval by the LCCC Board of Trustees.
