 Great News!

You may be eligible to participate in Pathways To Success – A new program in Career Services

What is Pathways to Success (P2S)?

Pathways to Success is a new program formed to provide education, training, and job preparation for in school and out of school individuals between the ages of 17-21 years.  This new program is available to young adults like you through the WIA program of “Soft Skills and Career Exploration,” and will help you develop the skills necessary to begin your promising career.

Why P2S?  What’s in it for me?

Why, because we want to help you prepare for your future.  Enrolling into the P2S Program will provide you that extra step ahead of another while participating in internships, job training, tutoring, career planning, resume preparation, summer employment opportunities, academic advising, leadership training, GED preparation and much more.  Your rewards will start by completing your enrollment, eligibility and your engagement.

Enrollment

Contact Saundra Daniels at sdaniels@lorainccc.edu or (440) 366-7662 at Lorain County Community College to complete your in-person orientation process and Kristin Bowers at kbowers@loraincounty.us or (440) 284-4629 at the Lorain County Workforce Development Agency to complete your enrollment assessment

Eligibility

You may be eligible if you are a Lorain County resident that is between the ages of 17-21; a US Citizen, WIA eligible; and registered with Selective Services (if you are a male 18 years or older).

Engagement

The P2S Team understands that your life schedule with school, work and/or family is not always easy to juggle.    Because of this, we will not add any more than you can handle.  However, we want to make sure that you receive all the knowledge and experiences that will prepare you for your future.  Engaging in scheduled activities, leadership training, mentorship, online assessments, career workshops  and your full commitment to the program is all that we ask from you as you aim for your promising future successes.

What is WIA?

WIA is short for The Workforce Investment Act of 1998.  WIA was signed into effect by President Clinton on August 7, 1998.  This Act was implemented to reform Federal job training programs and to help create a new workforce system.  The system is intended to be customer focused, and to give Americans access to the tools they need to secure their futures in the Workforce.
