The Self Employment Alternative - Exploring Business Ownership
Is owning a business part of your short term or long term career strategy?
Is entrepreneurship a career path that you would like to learn more about?
Are you weighing the merits of owning your own business or purchasing a franchise?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you’ll want to attend the May 12th meeting of Transitions at Lorain County Community College.
At the May 12th meeting, a panel of experts will provide advice on starting and your own business. They will provide real world advice on what it takes to develop and grow a successful business and discuss what resources are available to guarantee success. The panel will include:
• Cliff Reynolds, the Director of the Great Lakes Innovation and Development Enterprise (GLIDE), a facility that provides support for emerging businesses with a focus on technology-based enterprises.
• Dennis Cocco, Associate Director at GLIDE. Dennis is responsible for developing marketing and technology-based business strategies. Dennis’ responsibilities include identifying and recruiting start-up companies to locate within GLIDE.
• Joel Libava, President, Franchise Selection Specialists Inc. Joel brings real world franchise industry experience to his clients, coming from a franchise management background in the automobile and restaurant/hospitality industries. Crain’s Cleveland Business calls him “The Local Franchising Guru.” • Paul Kukuca, the Executive Director of the Ohio Small Business Development Center at the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce. The SBDC connects clients with business resources, provides one-on-one counseling, and training to assist business development.
