Loan Reduction Request Form

Federal Direct Stafford Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Loan Reduction/Cancellation Request Form

Lorain County Community College has awarded you the maximum amount of Federal Direct Stafford Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized Loans eligible based on your Cost of Attendance and as allowed by federal regulation for each term requested.

If you have been offered both Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans, you are not required to borrow from both programs. If you want to reduce and/or cancel any or all of your entire Subsidized and/or Unsubsidized loan, you may do so by completing the form below.
Please Note: You may not switch or transfer funds from one program to the other.

Student loans are processed for the terms as requested by the student per the LCCC Student Loan Request form and are disbursed each semester. You must be actively enrolled and have attendance verified in at least 6 credit hours before the loan(s) will be credited to your LCCC student account. You must also be meeting all federal loan eligibility requirements. When requesting to reduce and/or cancel your Federal Direct Stafford Loan(s), please do so prior to scheduled disbursement for the term so LCCC may notify the Department of Education of your request.
