Performing Arts

Performing Arts

Through the Division of Arts and Humanities, students and community members may participate in LCCC's theater, orchestra, concert band or choral performance groups. Those wanting to participate may do so for college credit or just for the fun of it without college credit and without any cost. It's a wonderful way to bring students and community members together and it brings about extraordinary efforts in the arts.

Vocal music opportunities are plentiful at LCCC. The LCCC Civic Chorale is made up of students, community members, experienced vocalists and those who sing just for the enjoyment of it. The Civic Chorale performs representative choral works of all periods. There are no fees or auditions required to participate.

The LCCC Civic Orchestra presents representative orchestral works of all periods. The LCCC Civic Band performs a wide range of music of various periods for string, brass and woodwind combinations. Participation in LCCC Theatre requires auditions for acting roles, but positions in all sorts of technical/house personnel capacities are also available. For more information on LCCC opportunities in the arts, phone the LCCC Arts and Humanities Division toll-free at 1-800-995-LCCC (extension 4013) or direct-dial 440-366-4013.

The Stocker Humanities and Fine Arts Center is the performing home of the Civic Chorale, Civic Orchestra, Civic Band and LCCC Theatre. Stocker Center also hosts professional productions as part of its Performing Artists Series and Student Matinee Series. It also boasts a Gallery which features exhibits throughout the year. The public is welcome at all performances and exhibitions held in Stocker Center.
