LCCC Counseling

Counselors assist students with educational and life planning, career development and personal issues. Counselors help students to identify barriers and develop solutions that enable them to persist and achieve their academic goals. Assessment may be provided to help students gain a better understanding of their needs, values, interests and abilities.

Counseling sessions are available on an appointment basis.

When Should You See a Counselor?
You should make an appointment to meet with a counselor if you:

  • Have not declared a major
  • Want to explore and discuss various career options
  • Need in-depth guidance on course selection for degree completion
  • Are planning to transfer to another college/university program
  • Are experiencing personal problems
  • Have completed 30 hours of credit and have not met with a counselor
  • Need to determine how far you are from graduating
