About Us

For nearly 100 years, Girl Scouting has made a difference in the lives of girls and in the neighborhoods we serve. Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSNEO) provides diverse opportunities for girls, much more than many might associate with Girl Scouting. Girl Scouts has been a mainstay in our community, providing leadership development opportunities for thousands of girls each year. With approximately 54,000 members, Girl Scouts of North East Ohio is the largest, most active, female voluntary service organization in the region, and among the largest Girl Scout Councils in the nation. Our commitment is to remain relevant for these girls-to help them build courage, confidence, and character as they strive to choose the best life to lead. For us, this means delivering programs that build skills for the 21 century, adapting to changes in family structure, embracing a global community, and keeping pace with technology. By pioneering Girl Scout programs in science and technology, financial literacy, art, healthy living, environmental awareness, and global citizenship, we are staying focused on what makes a strong leader in a rapidly changing world.

Today’s Girl Scouts are focused on leadership experiences, new adventures and challenges, and lasting friendships. Our Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs give girls an opportunity to view the moon and stars at our campsite observatories and build robots that are programmed to perform specific tasks, while reinforcing teamwork skills. From a very young age, we begin building self-sufficiency in our future leaders. Just as we are educating children about such topics as healthy living, environmental awareness, and community engagement, we also help them establish early financial habits such as saving, earning and giving.

We all want the best for our girls. Each and everyday is filled with possibilities. Will she experience the fun and adventure of hiking trails, speaking in front of a group, planting a tree, learning about kinetic energy, exploring art in 3 dimensions and creating a sculpture, learning how to use a topographic map and compass, canoeing, web design, astronomy, horseback riding, theater, camping or just having fun. Whatever that Girl Scout is doing, you can be certain of one thing: what she is doing today is making her stronger for tomorrow.

In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills and cooperation with others.

In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives - like strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

In Girl Scouts, the world is yours! The programs we offer give girls a variety of activities to choose from, including exploring careers at NASA and building robots, behind the scenes at Playhouse Square, exploring caves, even traveling the world. No matter your age, if you want to study insects and their relationship to the environment, the stars, learn to be a decorating diva, or organize a recycling program in your community, Girl Scouts is the way to try and succeed at the things that interest you.

What you’ve heard is true. In Girl Scouts, if you can think it, you can do it. All girls, have access to an accepting environment, where you will work with other girls and caring adults, feel empowered to use your leadership skills to set challenging goals and prepare yourself for a positive, healthy and independent future.

Girl Scout programs will open your eyes to a world of new ideas and adventures and let you discover what you love, where you excel, and possible career options. Millions of successful woman have said their lives were positively influenced by the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

Girl Scouting provides a positive, nurturing world that brings to the forefront personal responsibility, goal-setting, and accomplishment. Girl scouting empowers girls to achieve their dreams and fulfill their potential as leaders in the world.
