Lorain homeowner Sharon Cole recently received the keys to her renovated house on Livingston Avenue from Kelly Zelesnik, dean of the Engineering Technologies Division at LCCC, and Robert Gilchrist, Lorain Service Director.

Fifty-six students in LCCC’s Construction Trades program at the LCCC Learning Center in Lorain got hands-on experience renovating Cole’s home during the past 15 months.

They did demolition, plumbing, heating, electrical, carpentry and insulation work on the home. Lorain’s Community Development Department partnered with LCCC’s Construction Trades program to provide the renovations as a part of the city’s efforts to revitalize its housing stock.

The city and college are exploring other projects that students in the Construction & Tradesman Program may be able to participate in.  For more information on the program click here.
