How do I . . . find journals, magazines or newspapers on the shelf?
Journals, magazines and newspapers are also referred to as periodicals because they are published in intervals, and continue to be published for an indefinite period of time.
The LCCC Library subscribes to a wide variety of periodicals in print that support academic programs as well as personal interests.
To locate print copies of journals, magazines and newspapers:
|
Step 1: Check the LCCC Library Catalog to see if the periodical is available in print at the library.
- Conduct a Title Search using the magazine, journal or newspaper title.
- Try a Keyword Search if you're not sure of the title. [Tip: Using the drop down box, change "Material Type" to PERIODICAL/SER.]
|
|
Step 2: If the catalog indicates that the library has the periodical, please note:
- Where it is located (Current Periodicals, Bound/Unbnd Perdiodicals or Microfilm).
- The issues/dates that are available.

Step 3: Look for overhead signs indicating the locations.
|
Step 4: If you didn't find the item you want in the catalog, you can check for an electronic copy using the Electronic Journal Finder. [Tip: Use keywords from the title instead of the whole title.]
