Having work experience in your field of study is one of the best ways to get the job you want after graduation.  You can gain this valuable experience while still in school!

Work-Based Learning Program
Provides you the opportunity to translate classroom theories into practical applications on the job. It is a credit course which tells your future employers that not only did you perform to the specifications of your internship or co-op, but that you also met LCCC's standards of academic performance. Opportunities exist with local employers as well as LCCC's own Innovation Fund entrepreneurs. You can also earn credit for a current job in your field of study.

  •  Internship
A short-term, paid or unpaid, mentored work experience  connected to your major. An internship is typically completed after you’ve taken some core courses and courses within your major. You can also earn academic credit.
  • Cooperative Education
Also known as a Co-op, you can take credit for Co-op (1-3 academic credits) for your paid Co-Op. You can use an existing job if it’s related to your major or find a position using CareerLink, our job search database.

Service Learning
Service Learning is a form of experiential education that combines meaningful community service with classroom instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities. Service learning achieves and enhances course objectives while meeting an identified community need.
