James Massena March: The Fabric of Space
Friday, January 4 – Wednesday, January 30, 2008
James Massena March presents large scale abstract paintings and prints in this one-person exhibition. These paintings continue the artist's investigation of space, concentrating on the synergies of line, color and form to extrapolate its essence. In this series, he organizes the structure of space and visualizes it as interwoven and intertwining “fabric” that comes at one from all directions, and continues beyond the canvas borders. Presenting the struggle between the senses and the intellect, as well as the perceptual and conceptual, these works serve as visual meditations.
Mr. March, formerly from New York City, graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and earned an MFA from Kent State University. He has had over twenty-five one-man shows throughout the country, and exhibited his work in two one-person exhibits in 2007, one at Asterisk Gallery in Cleveland and the other at Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in Chelsea, NYC. He currently works in Cleveland as a painter and printmaker. Presented by Stocker Arts Center
